How we work with Academia

For over 15 years, Cerion Nanomaterials has provided custom design, scale-up and manufacturing services to support the increasing demand for nanoparticles for a variety of applications and products in more than 40 industries. We provide companies around the globe access to the nanomaterial expertise that they typically don’t have in-house, including, rapid design of nanoparticles for application testing, precision control over technical attributes for optimal nanomaterial performance, robust scale-up processes along with cost-effective and reproducible manufacturing.

Cerion is typically engaged by universities or other academic institutions when they are working with a company and have successfully created a candidate material that is ready for the next stage of development. We routinely work with clients to solve problems around material optimization, process and cost optimization, product integration, scale-up, manufacturing and more for a nanomaterial they’ve already developed. We do not provide samples or a catalog of off-the-shelf products.

If you are looking for commercially available options, we recommend checking out catalog providers like Alfa Aesar or Sigma Aldrich. At Cerion, we optimize and design custom candidate nanomaterials for each customer we work with and do not provide commercially available, off-the-shelf samples.  All candidate materials that come out of our labs are confidential to the customer and the specific project/product they were designed for.

Similar to the above question, if you are looking for commercially available options, we recommend  looking at catalog providers like Alfa Aesar or Sigma Aldrich. We don’t supply any ‘off-the-shelf’ or bulk materials but could put together a proposal for making a customized nanomaterial as part of a small research project if it aligns with our expertise. If you have successfully created a candidate nanomaterial for a company that is now ready for the next phase of development, we can help. We routinely work with customers to solve problems around material optimization, process and cost optimization, product integration, scale-up, manufacturing and more for a nanomaterial they’ve already developed. Cerion offers services to qualify nanomaterials for scale-up, and if the formulation is viable, we can also manufacture and ship to the customer. If this is the next step for your company or the company you are working with, please send an email to info@cerionnano.com to discuss the transition or have the company contact us directly for scale-up services. Cerion has access to equipment to synthesize nanomaterials in-house by several different methods. View our synthesis capabilities to learn more about the different routes you can try or download the technical article ‘Nanomaterial Synthesis Methods: Pros, Cons and Economics’ for a more in-depth assessment.

Cerion has an in-house analytical department outfitted with all the necessary instrumentation, equipment and personnel to fully characterize nanomaterials. Take a look at our characterization capabilities here and email us at info@cerionnano.com if you need additional support.

We have several articles, blogs, videos and more available that have been created by senior members of our technical team and leadership. View our resources here.
