Rochester, NY (February 26, 2019) – Cerion, a leader in the science of nanomaterial design and manufacturing, announced today that Bill Stewart has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Chris Skipper has been promoted to Vice President of Commercial Sales.
“Cerion is a top-performing nanomaterials company driven by an exceptional leadership team, an amazing group of passionate employees and an outstanding portfolio of intellectual property that enables us to meet customer’s critical nanomaterial design and manufacturing needs,” said Landon Mertz, Chief Executive Officer. “Since joining Cerion, Bill and Chris have made significant contributions to our company, leveraging our unique capabilities to meet and exceed customer’s needs. I look forward to the continued success of our company under their leadership.”
As Chief Operating Officer, Bill Stewart is responsible for the company’s continued operational expansion and to ensure excellence in the delivery of customer’s nanomaterial design, scale-up and manufacturing programs.
Stewart joined Cerion in May 2015 as Senior Vice President of Business Development. His experience includes a 30-year career with the Eastman Kodak company, including 15 years of hands-on and leadership roles within its analytical operations, along with 15 years of management experience overseeing chemical synthesis, scale-up and manufacturing for a variety of applications. Prior to joining Cerion, Stewart was the General Manager for Rochester Silver Works, widely regarded as the largest silver recovery and recycling operation in the United States.
As Vice President of Commercial Sales, Chris Skipper oversees sales and provides technical consultation for companies seeking to access Cerion’s advanced expertise in nanomaterial research, development, scale-up and industrial manufacturing for their product or system. Previously, Skipper served as the company’s director of business development and was responsible for global business development initiatives, direct sales and marketing campaigns.
Cerion is a leader in the science of designing, scaling and manufacturing metal, metal oxide and ceramic nanomaterials for companies developing products.
The cost of developing advanced expertise in nanomaterials is prohibitively expensive and time intensive, resulting in a significant barrier to entry for companies considering its adoption. Cerion provides companies with access to this expertise through all phases of the product life cycle including applied research, development, scale-up, commercialization and manufacturing.
Cerion’s position in the market is enabled by three strategic competitive advantages: deep and demonstrated capability in a.) precision design and customization of both nanoparticle size and technical attributes, b.) robust processes to scale materials from prototype to low and high-volume production rates, and c.) industry-leading, cost-effective manufacturing systems and production capacities.
